We are hiring hardware techs in the Austin TX area!
Job Purpose:
Under the direct supervision of the Door and Hardware Service Scheduler will plan, execute, and finalize projects according to strict deadlines and within budget.
Job Duties:
Installs aluminum and steel frames, thresholds and various types of doors on job sites
Assists with production of aluminum and steel frames, thresholds and various types of doors as required
Installs locks, panic devices, closures and window kits on new and existing openings
May remodel buildings to accept product
Repairs existing doors, hardware, locks and closures
Must be proficient in the use of various hand and power tools including but not limited to a tape measure, hammer, electric saws, sanders, jig saw, hammer drill, demolition saw, etc.
Uses wire feed welder, cutting torch and arc welder
Uses grinder to smooth out welds
Mixes and sands body putty to cover grinding marks and provide a smooth finish
Uses touch up paint over body putty
Uses jig saw (or other approved methods) to cut window kits into steel or wood doors
Installs window kits and other hardware onto doors
Uses various metal cutting hand and power tools to create cutouts as required
Loads and unloads material onto truck
Works in non-temperature controlled environment (hot to freezing, wet to dry)
Controls and actively participates in the activities of any number of projects at various stages of work to ensure the accurate completion of the project for all Architectural Division 8, Inc. entities
Responsible for executing, controlling, inspecting, and ensuring that projects and work performance adhere to safety and work performance standards comply with OSHA, company and other agency regulations
Installs, troubleshoots, performs maintenance and repairs to device-level field instruments
Delivers timely and effective installation and repairs to ensure optimal system performance Interfaces with customers in a positive and professional manner
Manages and controls expenses to include company resources and assets; company vehicles, cellular phones, computers, tools, inventory parts, and other resources
Develops competency levels in instrument systems technology to include mechanical, electrical, electronic, chemical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and/or software technology
Assists group and work at the direction of access controls or project manager supervision
Follows project schedules to ensure timely delivery of project goals and expectations
Consults with necessary personnel and entities to determine functional requirements and prepares information regarding design, specifications, materials, equipment, estimated costs, and construction time
May attend project turnover meetings, project manager meetings, and other meetings (whether or not specifically designated as an assigned project) to communicate issues, challenges, progress, and/or other important information
Communicates with vendors, suppliers, general contractor, electrical superintendent, I&C project manager, engineers, and/or owners
May operate heavy equipment or equipment that requires technical expertise or specialized training.
Initiates correspondence as necessary
May require 100% travel to various job sites
Returns job drawings to installation manager at the end of every shift
Obtains customer signature on paperwork upon successful job completion
Calls customer to confirm availability before heading to job site
Relay’s job related questions, conflicts and any resolutions to installation manager
Maintains a clean and neat company vehicle
Maintains inventory of assigned equipment and provides maintenance to said equipment in accordance with company standards
All other duties as assigned for the successful execution and/or completion of various projects whether or not specifically assigned; all duties will include (but is not limited to) various Architectural Division 8, Inc. locations
Supervisory Duties:
May supervise and direct work performed by personnel who are assigned to assist with tasks associated with hollow metal installation functions
