In order to continually promote and create innovative products that support our vision we are currently seeking an Solution Architect in Richmond, VA.

The purpose of the Solution Architect role is to represent and champion sustainable and value creating solution choices, architectures and solution designs. The Solution Architect is involved throughout demand and service delivery, from idea/demand to design and implementation, and subsequent maintenance and enhancement. The Solution Architect also defines, maintains and evolves solution specific architectural standards and guidelines, in line with overall standards and guidelines.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Within field of practice, define, maintain and evolve solution specific architectural standards and guidelines, in line with overall standards and guidelines
  • Ensure that sustainable and value creating solutions are chosen to fulfill business needs, based on both own and others’ suggestions
  • Estimate development work as input to both demand framing and detailed planning
  • Create robust, performance optimized, efficient, scalable, reusable and value creating architectures as well as functional and non-functional designs to fulfill solution requirements. Includes all types of solution components, such as configuration, code objects, forms, workflows, reports and integrations
  • Ensure traceability between designs and solution requirements
  • Ensure that architectures, functional designs and non-functional designs are appropriately documented
  • Perform or lead fit/gap analysis between solution requirements and existing functionalities
  • May participate in capturing, defining and documenting solution requirements and use cases for a solution
  • Work with customers, users, other Solution Architects and Infrastructure experts to capture, define and document non-functional solution requirements
  • Transition designs to Developers to ensure a clear and complete understanding of designs
  • Provide guidance to developers building the solution from the design
  • Work with other Solution Architects to ensure that designs and solutions work together and fulfill business needs in total
  • May support in test planning and preparation of primarily system testing, integration testing, acceptance testing and performance testing
  • Research and review new technologies for applicability to solutions within field of practice
  • Review existing design patterns for applicability to solutions within field of practice
  • Identify and suggest improvement opportunities for assigned applications

Requirements

EDUCATION:

Degree in the field of computer science, software engineering, information technology, or equivalent training

EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum three years’ experience in a relevant position (architect, developer or application specialist)
  • Minimum five years’ work experience

  • Subject matter knowledge in ERP
