WHAT WE OFFER
The primary responsibility of the Quality Lab Technician is to monitor and operate the Environmental Control Department (ECD) lab processes and equipment to ensure a safe and efficient operation.
Major Responsibilities
Perform appropriate laboratory testing to analyze specific samples
Evaluation of results and reporting
Responsible for appropriate corrective action to the questionable test results
Provide non-routine support to the production unit
Performing process test aimed at improving unit operations
Processing data with computer software (data bases)
Perform maintenance of laboratory instruments
Lab and equipment cleaning and decontamination
Responsible for safely handling chemicals in laboratory
Maintain a safe working environment
WHAT YOU OFFER
Basic Qualifications
Associates degree in science related program with 64 hours of science curriculum and the following requirements:
1 year of general chemistry with labs for science majors
1 year of organic chemistry with labs for science majors
1 college algebra course or higher-level math course
Ability to work a rotating shift on occasion
Ability to work overtime
The eligibility to apply for and obtain a Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) within a reasonable timeframe
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor of Science in Chemistry
Five years (or more) of lab experience
Advanced lab tech status
Experience with wastewater lab analysis and permit regulations
Experience with lab software systems (e.g. iLIMS, Chromatography, spectroscopy, titration)
Metal Analysis Experience
Knowledge & Skills:
Instrument troubleshooting skills
Basic Computer Skills
Critical thinking and analytical skills
