Conducts policy analysis, needs assessment, and stakeholder analysis of city policies and recommends changes to support equity goals
Develops and communicates policy strategies, equity analysis results, progress and recommendations to community and staff using written reports and presentations
Coordinates policy initiatives, collaborates with and convenes with community partners on activities that support LMG equity goals

Examples of Duties

Uses data and information to assess and understand issues, evaluate options, form accurate conclusions, and make proper recommendations for legislative amendments, regulations, guidelines, and policies/procedures
Writes for a variety of audiences and produces detailed, written analysis, memos on health policy, comments on proposed policies, fact sheets, issue briefs, and other materials that detail specific health policies and their impact on health equity
Interacts with individuals and groups from the community in order to develop and maintain productive relationships and achieve results
Studies impacts of new or proposed public health policies, proposed legislation, taxes, health services, and regulations to provide information for equitable decision/policy making and long-range organizational planning
Performs related work

Minimum Requirements

Bachelor’s degree
Community Health
Political Science
Public Administration
Public Health
Public Policy
Social Science with Research Concentration
Related field

Six months experience in analyzing policies, laws or regulations
Six months experience in policy planning

An equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted

Must work a varied schedule

Meets regular and punctual attendance standards and any special needs of the position as determined by management, including mandatory overtime and performing related work
