We’re looking for a savvy website person to join our team. In this role, you’ll support our end user and social marketing efforts across a few of our websites. You’ll engage with users of our websites via email and social media. You will work independently but also with our small team to implement social strategies and develop content. While this role is not a design-based position, ideally we would love to fill it with someone who has an eye for design at heart who doubles as an amazing user-relationship manager. Because of the nature of the company, there are various hats to be worn and jobs to be completed, with room for growth within the company. The candidate will be working in the office near River North once (or 2x) per week and the rest can be done remotely. Roughly 20 hours of work per week, flexible. $21+/hour.

Some of What You’ll Do:

  • Email and engage with users who have written into our websites
  • Schedule out Tweets for three of our websites that are word-game related
  • Reply gently to tweets if necessary, or direct them appropriately
  • Analyze user feedback forms and group issues together
  • Schedule out already created Pinterest Pins for one crafts website
  • Research other competitor brands and come up with spreadsheets describing them
  • Schedule out instagram posts for one word based website (think dictionary, and content is mostly already written down)
  • Review user Feedback to suggest improvements to our website tools
  • Test out our website pages/tools to suggest user experience improvements.
  • Work alongside the remainder of our team to identify and implement both website and social media opportunities for our digital content and tools
  • Quality control and review of social and website assets before publishing.
  • We are a small team – there are often new and upcoming projects that may arise with different required assignments. We want someone who is adaptable and excited about new opportunities with a growing and fast-moving company.
  • Monitor our competitive landscape, industry standards, and social media tools, and develop internal guidance materials as needed.

Who You Are:

  • Kind and responsible. The rest is gravy.
  • Strong communication skills and can speak with a variety of individuals with authenticity, personality, and empathy while inviting others into the conversation.
  • Ability to defuse website user’s frustrations
  • You have exceptional web skills, with an eye for visually exciting text and image content.
  • Excited and self-motivated to build efficient and effective habits into existing operations, and a desire to design and implement new operational strategies.
  • Professional and proactive work ethic.
  • Comfortable working independently and in very small teams
  • You’re able to manage multiple projects/tasks at once.
  • College Degree preferred

Bonus: You’re A Rockstar and We’d love To Know If:

  • Good with users/customers, can diffuse frustration easily
  • You have used Hootsuite and/or other social scheduling software
  • You are familiar with Google Sheets
  • Pick up new software/websites easily
  • Familiarity with Twitter, word games, and/or Instagram is a major plus
  • If you have worked in education or in the service industry, that is helpful and also a plus.
