What is CAMP?
Summer CAMP (College Access for Migrant People) for seniors is an interactive, intensive week long experience focused on helping immigrants and first-generation Americans with the college application process. During our week-long retreat in Western Massachusetts, CAMPers will not only experience the recreation of swimming, boating, and cooking by a beautiful lake but will also focus on preparing for their college experience in the following realms:
1) Learn what to do in your junior year to prepare to get into the college of your choice
2) Attend daily workshops on important topics such as SAT prep and interviewing skills
3) Meet with college faculty and admissions officers
4) Tour local colleges including Amherst, Hampshire, Umass and more!
In the fall of their Senior Year Campers will participate in weekly college guidance workshops at Atlas: DIY to see them through the college application process!
At the end of Summer CAMP all CAMPers help other immigrant youth by creating projects that display what they’ve learned. These letters from CAMPers are often displayed on our website.
