Description of Work
Position is located at the Nebraska Extension in Douglas/Sarpy Counties office in Omaha. Will provide varied administrative support duties for Nebraska Extension, Counties, and University staff which will require independent judgment in accordance with policies and procedures. Coordinate Extension projects and related record keeping, monitor budgets and outcomes, and communicate with project partners. Prepare and compose correspondences. Greet, direct, and assist building customers and staff. Answer, direct, and assist with clientele phone calls. Manage programming, publication, merchandise receipt and deposit transactions. Maintain financial shadow system and follow cash handling report procedures. Stay abreast of current financial policies and procedures by attending training and communicating with County offices and University’s business center. Establish inventory processes, create spreadsheets to track spending trends, and maintain Douglas County and University inventories. Will be responsible for providing oversight of the Douglas County and UNL vehicles. Transport vehicles to service garage as necessary. Additional duties as assigned such as room set up and take down and facility operation assistance.

Minimum Required Qualifications
High school diploma or GED plus four years of clerical or administrative support experience; equivalent education/experience considered. Working knowledge of general office procedures and equipment. PC-based word processing and spreadsheet software program skills.
Associate’s degree in business or a closely related field. Experience with PC-based presentation and database software programs. Working knowledge of UNL. Strong interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills. Detail-oriented and accurate with strong organizational skills. Ability to prioritize and work independently within established procedures.
