What You Will Do:

The Machine Operator performs moderately complex set-ups; optimizes machine parameters and inputs on machines in their work centers with limited supervision. Works on assignments moderately complex in nature where judgment is required in resolving problems and making routine recommendations. This position specifically performs technician responsibilities by setting up and operating Punch presses, progressive dies and various other metal processing equipment and tools.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Plans and executes moderately complex assignments using machine tools.
  • Operate and sets up punch press machines, either automated or manual.
  • Set up and trouble shoot new first-time tools and dies.
  • Performs complex set ups, optimize parameters and identify ideas to improve.
  • Learn to process various different materials.
  • May assist in inventory management, and preventive maintenance.
  • Perform SPC on process to help eliminate variation.
  • Supports design and assist with bids and proposals.
  • Communicates effectively and participates in continuous improvement and problem solving
  • Operates computer and applicable software in order to document quality records.

What You Must Have:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Ability to set up and troubleshoot metal processing machines and tooling.
  • Capable of troubleshooting complex die and tools with minimal supervision.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Ability to work with engineering and toolmakers to optimize the process.
  • Create and document setups and record.
  • Willing to work extra hours, and potentially weekends.
  • Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish assigned tasks and goals.
  • Solid understanding of Lean principles.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints
  • Ability to lift up to 25-50lbs
  • Ability to work from 2:30 to 11.00 pm
