JOB STATEMENT: The Lift Truck Operator will perform the duties of warehousing, staging, shipping and receiving. All activities will be completed in a safe and efficient manner.
Essential Duties:
- Understand and comply with all ISO9001, HACCP, and GMP.
- Learn and adhere to Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).
- Operate equipment:
– Counterbalanced lift with fork/clamp attachment.
– Pallet truck.
– M20 floor scrubber.
– 7100 floor scrubber.
- Consolidate warehoused product.
- Identify available warehouse space, moving product as needed.
- Conduct warehouse inspections, providing lists for consolidation, room, out place product, rework, and cleanup.
- Document pre-use lift inspections.
- When operating lift, the horn will be used to warn others of your presence. Sound the horn when:
– Changing direction.
– Moving out of aisles/trailers.
– Entering/exiting intersections.
– Any time needed to warn others of your presence.
- Seatbelt use is required when operating sit-down counterbalanced lifts.
- Product movement will be completed both physically and scanned/entered in IFS (scan what you take / take what you scan).
- Receive, warehouse, stage, and ship products per documents and IFS/Novacura systems.
- Unless otherwise specified, inventory rotation is based on the First in / First out (FIFO) system.
- Wrap product by hand or machine.
- Prior to loading/unloading product, inspect associated dock equipment and trailers for serviceability.
- Operate docking equipment (ramps, hitches, and doors).
- Prior to entering trailers, ensure the trailer is secure, wheels chocked, trailer is hitched, and the tractors engine is off.
- Load trailers with the correct load and weight distribution, considering the trailer length, axel configuration, and type of trailer.
- Secure and protect outbound loads for shipping, using load locks, airbags and blankets, as required.
- Move received product from the dock to designated rows for storage.
- Ensure that the staged product in in ship ready condition and meets customers requirements.
- Consolidate warehoused product.
- Powered lift equipment requires filling of propane tanks or changing batteries.
- Place pallets in designated rows, using the IFS/Novacura systems.
- Place and stack cases in a safe manner, ensuring the integrity of the product and packaging is in ship ready condition. Stack cases and pallets evenly.
- Participate in shift meetings, safety training, and Tailgates.
- Maintain a safe, clutter free, and clean work environment.
- Rework cases as required.
- Perform other duties as assigned by supervision.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Education/Experience:
- Lift and warehouse experience.
- High school or GED.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Speak, read, and write English.
- Basic math.
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
- Basic computer skills and the ability to learn warehouse systems.
- Pass OSHA certification for counterbalanced lifts and pallet truck.
- Pallet patterns, counts, and ties.
- Wine bottle/keg/box sizes, vintages, varieties and alcohol percentages
- Maintain a positive attitude, willingness to get the job done.
- Ability to work under the direction of supervision.
