The Inventory and Automotive Title Specialist is responsible for processing all car deals, verifying costs for the accounting department, including the costs of reconditioning and equipment add-ons, conducts the legal transfer of documents for the Department of Motor Vehicles.

  • Process all Easton Motors, Inc. and Creative Finance, Inc.’s used vehicles for registration in the state in which the vehicle is titled.
  • Prepare tax and title documents.
  • Update Reconditioning (Recon) Report and DMS when there is a status change.
  • Complete new Buyers Guide when reconditioning and detailing are completed to sell for Easton Motors, Inc.
  • Submit all legal transfer work to the Department of Motor Vehicles.
  • Verify that funds have been collected and the correct lienholder paid off before processing title applications.
  • Check for accuracy in the application and ensures that all information is complete.
  • Complete an electronic lien release for paid-off accounts with Creative Finance Inc.
  • Ensure a balance of vehicles at each Easton Motor’s Branch using Make, Model, lot age, and price as criteria.
  • Maintain a system to verify out-of-state titles.
  • Compile and maintain a complete list of all pending title work. Report to management the status of missing or problem titles. Provide a current list of pending titles to the comptroller at the end of the month.
  • Sign titles for all wholesalers who have paid in full. Prepare monthly reports for management of any funds not collected from wholesalers.
  • Prepare key tags and folders for used vehicles.
  • Set up wholesale units to get us the best return on investment.
  • Posts vehicle sales and purchases.
  • Process and register all vehicle warranties and extended service contracts. Maintain a log of all contracts processed and mailed.
  • Process yearly renewal of dealer tags in conjunction with controller.
  • Attend seminars held by local licensing bureaus and any available training on title regulations.
  • Cross-train others to handle title clerk daily responsibilities.
  • Conducts periodic training sessions for Finance and Insurance managers and sales personnel regarding title regulations and procedures and issue written memos to managers and all sales personnel whenever regulations change.
  • Maintain a safe, well-organized, and clean workspace
  • Complete all other duties as assigned and relative to the nature of the job description.
  • MV11 submission before day six.
  • No corrections needed after the Buyers Guide leaves the hub.
  • Floor Plan checked for accuracy without error consistently with no requirement for bank audit on inventory..
  • The employee may be asked to work Saturdays and occasionally works evenings.
  • Travel between locations is occasionally required.



  • Two to four years of related experience or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience

Required Knowledge and Skills:

  • Maintain a current understanding of title regulations.
  • Maintain a professional appearance and a neat work area.
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients and other company employees.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or company employees.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written, or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with various concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.


  • 1-2 years of experience working in a clerical and detail-oriented position involving vehicles is strongly preferred
  • 2 years of customer service experience required


Monday through Friday with rotating Saturday requirements

9:00 a.m. until 6:00 p.m.
