Job Description:

Where you fit in?

This position is part of the Projects and Technology Safety and Environment team supporting PT Deepwater Wells operations in the U.S. Gulf of Mexico.

What’s the role?

The primary accountability of this role is to proactively Assist and Assure (A&A) and related Wells safety and environmental program support to the Deepwater Wells operations teams operating in the U.S. Gulf of Mexico.

Provide direct HSE and A&A support and coaching to Deepwater Wells Rig Teams:

Manage coaching of work crews, first level supervisors, site leadership and WOTL/WOM/GM/VP as they visit rig sites by providing feedback, helping with the mechanics of the various work processes and developing competence.

Mentor and coach rig crews on A&A concepts.

Assist with rig intake for new start ups. Conduct training as required for A&A field coaches and rig crews.

Manage incident reporting and classification. Investigate incidents and develop/distribute lessons learned to the Wells Depp Water community.

Mange the development of LOD1 rose plot assessments with the Shell Supervisor and Contractor(s). Capture performance of TTW, SWP and GZS. Understand site-specific gaps on the rose plot and coach on the gaps. Review Leading Indicators to determine currency and accuracy. Ensure LOD1 information is populated in Shell digital tools, Power BI.

Determine whether Leading Indicators match the conditions on the location.

Capture site specific performance of TTW, SWP and GZS. Coach on the gaps.

Promote Human Performance and Learner Mindset principles and ways of working.

In addition, this role will assist rig team with implementation of priority Wells safety programs including; Job by Design, Own the Zone, Lift Less, DROPS, Working Hands Free and THINK Process Safety.

Additionally:

Organize and facilitate A&A training sessions.

Organize and facilitate A&A Effectiveness Reviews (LOD2 Assurance).

Coach and Mentor contract hire A&A Coaches.

Dimensions:

Position is part of the P&T Wells Deepwater Safety and Environment team but is imbedded within the P&T Deepwater Wells line of business.

This is a rotational position working a 21/21 schedule from Robert Training Center and offshore rig locations.

Role has no direct reports.

Applicants must be capable to obtain a Shell or equivalent Offshore Remote Worker Medical Certification and successfully pass a BOSIET approved helicopter underwater egress and water survival course.

Applicants must be able to obtain a Transportation Worker Identification Credential issued by the United Stated Transportation Security Administration.

Applicants must be a Citizen of the United States or permanent resident (green card holder) in compliance with United States Coast Guard OCS labor laws.

What we need from you?

Must have legal authorization to work in the US on a full-time basis for anyone other than current employer.

Bachelor’s degree in Safety, Environment, or Technical Degree. Extensive SE and/or Wells Operations work experience can be accepted in absence of a degree.

At least three (3) years of experience in the Operational SE or Wells Operational or Technical skill pools with demonstrated experience provide direct support to Wells operations.

Strong written and verbal communication, with ability to interface with different levels of leadership.

Ability to lead and influence internal and external stakeholders to achieve improved HSSE performance.

Demonstrated ability to coach and mentor staff/contractors out of direct organizational line.

Demonstrated experience in LOD2 Assurance Activities.

Familiarity of Group HSSE and SP Control Framework requirements.

Knowledge of and experience executing Assist and Assure processes at a worksite.

Knowledge of key Wells SE programs, i.e. Job by Design, Own the Zone, Lift Less, Drops, Working Hands Free, Temporary Pipework, THINK Process Safety, Line of Fire.

Experience working with Sphera Incident Management, Root Cause Incident Investigation and LFI.

Knowledge of Wells Operations, E&P Industry, preferred.
