Chronicle Books is looking for a Help Desk Support Specialist to support our employees in New York City and Bath, UK. This is a 32 hour per week job and will be based in New York City.

The Help Desk Support Specialist will be a first line of PC and MAC Support. They will assist in the new employee onboarding process, offer tertiary support for our San Francisco office, and engage in phone support (Cisco Meraki VOIP). Supporting end users on Microsoft o365, Google G Suite, Adobe, Dropbox and Suitecase Fusion will be key to this job. Secondary support for additional business applications such as Microsoft Power BI, Firebrand, Knk and Salesforce will also be required. In addition, the person in this role will work with third party vendors to get supplemental work done on time and will support two servers in NYC as well as network, internet, firewall and VPN services.


Applicants will need an associate degree or equivalent technical school training, and a bachelor’s degree is preferred. They should have a minimum of two to five years of IT support work in a similar role and capacity as well as significant experience installing, configuring, and troubleshooting computers in a networked Windows and MAC environment, including experience working with Windows file sharing and print servers. The ability to resolve issues with Microsoft Office, Google G Suite, and other typical desktop applications is needed, and experience with and/or knowledge of cloud-based computing is a plus. Cisco server certification is needed, and Microsoft o365 Certification is preferred. Please note that this job description is not designed to cover all activities required of the employee.

The expected salary range for this position is $60,000 – $70,000, and the final salary will be determined by factors including, but not limited to, an applicant’s education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, and geographic location as well as internal equity and alignment with market and industry data.
