Fraud Risk Lead
Wilmington
As a Barclays Fraud Risk Lead, you will be leading Application Fraud loss group, a team of 2-3 analysts. In your new role you will be reporting to head of application fraud who is currently managing Cards, Personal Loans, Point of Sale Financing and Deposits portfolio. Lastly, you will be responsible for managing third party fraud losses for Barclays cards portfolio and ensuring optimal customer experience.Â

We are currently in the early stages of implementing a hybrid working environment, which means that many colleagues spend part of their working hours at home and part in the office, depending on the nature of the role they are in. What will you be doing?
â¢Â   Acting as a subject matter expert (SME) for strategy management to prevent fraudsters and credit abusers from opening credit cards using own or stolen identities
â¢Â   Owning and managing fraud rules, scores, and detection strategies and working closely with fraud operations team
â¢Â   Delivering tangible business benefit and value (e.g. loss avoidance, expense optimization, enhanced customer experience)
â¢Â   Owning the fraud loss budget for Application Fraud losses and Application KPIs
â¢Â   Ensuring proper risk controls and monitors are deployed adhering to group standards
â¢Â   Defining and leading strategic initiatives for Application Fraud
â¢Â   Conducting defect reviews of high fraud losses cases to identify any gaps in Fraud strategy, case management, or make procedural adjustments
What weâre looking for:
â¢Â   3+ yearsâ of fraud strategy or analytics working experienceÂ
â¢Â   Bachelorâs degree in a quantitative discipline like Statistics, Mathematics, Operations Research or relevant
â¢Â   Significant yearsâ of fraud experienceÂ
â¢Â   5+ yearsâ experience with data analytics in SAS/ SQL (or similar) with proven ability to process vast amounts of data into meaningful information
Skills that will help you in the role:
â¢Â   Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and presentation skills
â¢Â   Superior interpersonal and leadership skills with the ability to work with in a fast-paced, team environment
â¢Â   Experience in Identity fraud detection preferred, but not required
â¢Â   Knowledge of Data Science (Hadoop/ Big Data/ Machine Learning) is preferred, but not a strict requirement
