Our client – a major utility firm based out of Westchester County, NY – has an immediate need for Digital Communications Specialist. The particulars of the position are as follows.

Project Overview:
The consultant will support Social and Digital Communications Manager, as well as Internal Communications team, the specialist will develop, recommend and help implement digital marketing and communications strategies to advance client’s programs, with particular emphasis on web-based and other digital communications, including social media.

Job Functions & Responsibilities:

  • Support internal and external communications goals by conceptualizing, writing and updating website as well as a full range of other digital media needs
  • Ensure that all digital communications support the objectives of client’s programs and reach targeted audiences.
  • Oversee assigned projects from inception to successful completion.
  • Work closely with Internal, Media Relations and Creative Services staff to ensure accurate and timely completion of projects.
  • Support social media work, from writing to scheduling of posts (and related tracking mechanisms)
  • Support intranet revamp, as needed

Skills:

  • Proficient in use of communications technologies, particularly digital technologies, and techniques.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills required with ability to adapt style to the demands of the

audience.

  • Ability to develop effective solutions to communications issues in the face of a very fluid work environment.
  • Must be quick, flexible and willing to pursue alternative paths to desired end.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of increasingly responsible experience (including Web experience) in corporate
  • communications, digital marketing and communication, journalism, marketing or related field.
  • Excellent computer skills: web design and maintenance experience is critical;
  • Fluency in Site Core is mandatory.
  • Knowledge of SharePoint is helpful;
  • Experience in social media planning and copywriting is mandatory.
  • Adobe Dreamweaver and Photoshop is preferred, familiarity with other elements of Adobe’s Creative Suite is desirable;
