Primary Functions

  • Receive and process sales orders from existing customers via telephone, FAX and e-mail.
  • Create pricing quotes for customers.
  • Conduct product and application research to match customer’s criteria. (This includes communicating with suppliers.)
  • Calculate freight quotes for customers, both inbound and outbound.
  • Input sales orders into company software system (SXe).
  • Serve as liaison between customers and warehousing/distribution.
  • Process customer product returns and initiating credit requests.
  • Process drop shipment orders (direct shipments from supplier to customer).
  • Provide research, order entry and quoting for company’s Field Sales Team.
  • Conduct telemarketing communication with prospective customers and processing of sales leads.

Secondary Functions

  • Serve as back up to Counter Sales (all Customer Service functions with walk-up customers).

Job Requirements

  • Computer aptitude, knowledge and experience with Microsoft Office tools (particularly Word and Excel)
  • Strong math skills, ability to make calculations involving percentages, convert systems of measurement (feet to meters, inches to feet, etc), ability to calculate discounts and margins
  • Strong communication skills including telephone and e-mail; ability to communicate with internal and external customers
  • Strong organizational skills; must be able to multi-task and prioritize tasks

Additional

  • Knowledge of and experience with hydraulic and pneumatic products and their applications
  • Knowledge of and experience with pipe fittings, tube fittings, hydraulic and pneumatic hoses, couplings, valves and related products
