Within our multi-faceted organization, the Financial Services Division is seeking a Corporate Accountant to fulfill an immediate vacancy at our corporate headquarters.

The Corporate Accountant will be responsible for general accounting functions including preparing journal entries, maintaining balance sheet schedules and ledgers and account and bank reconciliations. The Corporate Accountant will assist with monthly closings and account analysis. The Corporate Accountant will support the Accounting Manager and Controller in carrying our the responsibilities of the accounting department.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Maintain general ledgers for the company and its various related entities on a GAAP basis.
  • Record and process cash disbursements from the company operating account for items such as payroll, employee reimbursements, and other operating expenses.
  • Process bill backs to various company departments and related entities for insurance, credit card charges, intercompany bill back, etc.
  • Maintain accounts receivable reconciliations for various bill backs.
  • Prepare monthly bank reconciliations for the company and its related entities.
  • Prepare monthly balance sheet reconciliations and monthly financial statements for the company and its various related entities.
  • Prepare journal entries.
  • Post month end Landlord statements
  • Process Residential and Commercial commissions. Track agent advances on bi-weekly draws. Process payments to agents with monthly reconciliation of YTD earnings.
  • Maintain Asset Keeper
  • Enter purchases/disposals into Asset Keeper for all companies on all basis. (Book, Federal, State, ACE and AMT)
  • Reconcile Asset Keeper to general ledger accounts monthly.
  • Prepare 1099s annually.
  • Prepare consolidated financial statements and cash flows.
  • Administer credit card program.
  • Completion of various duties/ad hoc projects as assigned or necessary, supporting the company reporting and for other company entities.

The ideal Corporate Accountant candidate should have a degree in Bachelor’s Degree in accounting, a minimum of 5-10 years of related experience. A background in public accounting or familiarity in the real estate industry is a plus. Computer proficiency in Microsoft Office products and MRI are required.
