We are looking for an energetic, creative, and empathetic person to join us as our newest instructor! You will be teaching a virtual 1:1 class of adult students for 3 hours every weekday using our curriculum & lesson plans, and make an enormous impact in the disability community.

We have full-time (9:00 am to 5:00 pm) fully remote contract (1099) Instructors roles available. The roles involve instructing students on vocational skills in our Arizona market. Classes take place during the morning and/or daytime in Arizona Standard Time.

Daivergent is a mission-driven technology startup headquartered in NYC, and recently closed its seed round dedicated to expanding the number of students we teach. You will be part of a small team at a growing startup, working closely with our vocational program manager and technology teams to help us teach and improve upon our curriculum.

– Teach a 3-hour online class every weekday using our curriculum and lesson plans
– Learn the current version of the Daivergent curriculum, and continue to learn new lesson plans and content that our curriculum team is developing
– Take time to deeply understand the tools, software, career areas, and soft skills covered in the curriculum so that you can intuitively understand it
– Develop your own lesson plans as you become comfortable with the Daivergent curriculum, and provide feedback to the curriculum team on how to further improve the content being taught
– Review written notes taken by the technical assistant assigned to your class, and ensure that it accurately reflects the comprehension of the students

Candidate Requirements (Must Haves):
– Meet either of the following education & work experience requirements:

  • (1) BA in Psychology, Human Services, Special Education, Teaching, Disability, or any other affiliated field + Minimum of 2 years special education experience working with adolescents and/or adults with disabilities or special needs, OR
  • (2) BA in any discipline with minimum of 6 years in special education working with adolescents and/or adults with disabilities or special needs

-Ability to pass a background check

-Access to computer, web camera, and reliable high-speed internet

-At least 21 years old

-Legally authorized to work in the US, and physically located in the US

Successful Candidates Should Also Have:

– A sincere desire to support the disability community
– Patience for supporting students who may take more time to understand
– Creativity due to the sometimes dynamic curriculum that we teach
– An ability to improvise and “think on your feet”, and adjust your instruction accordingly depending on the responsiveness of your students
– Good energy and outgoing personality
– Strong positivity and ability to foster a non-judgmental environment- Readiness to embrace a “startup mindset”, and have some tech-savvy (we will help you learn this too!)
