Job Summary:

Supports the development and execution of an enterprise-wide internal communications program and channel ecosystem to keep teammates, board members and medical staff informed, inspired, and connected to the healthcare system’s mission, vision, and values. Develops and implement communications campaigns to promote system initiatives and functions.
Primary writer for internal news website. Follows Roper St. Francis Healthcare and AP style guidelines. Content creation includes but not limited to: patient stories, photos, press releases, posters/flyers, personnel announcements, memos, talking points, award nominations, scripts, and system news. Ensures all communications are aligned with the system’s brand and are presented with audience-appropriate tone and language in a way that promotes our nationally recognized Best Places to Work culture.
Develops relationships with subject matter experts and internal stakeholders and engages in meaningful interviews and dialogue to build trust. Identifies and crafts compelling stories for internal and external channels while managing multiple projects on several initiatives simultaneously. Assists with uploading content to multiple internal and external channels, including promoting content on various channels that include YouTube, Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram.
Assists and sometimes leads internal efforts to enhance teammate engagement, including recognition programs, celebrations, and events. Shoots photos to complement and elevate written collateral as well as to promote engagement, such as at special events and recognitions.
Assists in information gathering, writing, editing, photography and publishing, managing print and electronic projects, publicity generation and oversight. Also, assists with media relations by writing external press releases. Serves as internal operations crisis communications manager under the Communications Director as well as assists with special events. Collects data on the performance of specific communications or campaigns. Develop analytics and metrics to track the effectiveness of communications to make the process more effective and efficient.

Minimum Qualifications:

Education: A bachelor’s degree required, preferably in Journalism, English, Communications, Marketing, or a related discipline.

Experience: Requires at least three years of professional writing experience. Knowledge and experience in healthcare public relations preferred and photography experience a plus.

Knowledge/Skills: Up-to-date design, publishing and social media platforms and tools. Requires excellent verbal and written communication skills, and the ability to interact effectively with key clients/constituents in the healthcare environment including but not limited to: teammates, physicians, administrators, and patients.
