Assistant Store Manager


The Assistant manager will support many functions including filling in for the store manager during absences, acting as a shop foreman and as a service writer, answering phones, assisting customers and performing tire changes. This is a hands-on position that will require front desk support, answering phones, emails, cashing out customers as well as spending a lot of time in the bay performing tire changes and/or supporting or conducting tire delivery to customers.

Licenses & Certifications:

  • Valid Driver’s License required

Minimum Education:

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent preferred

Minimum Experience:

  • Minimum of 3 years in the tire industry required
  • Minimum of 3 years of customer service experience preferred

Required Skills:

  • Language skills: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
  • Basic mathematical skills
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in writing, oral or diagram form
  • Computer skills: Basic computer skills; training will be provided as needed
  • Communication skills: Must be good at communicating with customers, employees and vendors in person, on the phone and via electronic tools such as e-mail and text messaging

Physical Demands:

Exerts 50 to 75 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 25 to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Frequently reaches (extending hands and arms in any direction), handles (seizing, holding, grasping, turning, or working with hands), and identifies and distinguishes colors. Occasionally climbs (ascends or descends ladders, stairs, ramps, and the like), balances. Occasionally stoops (bending the body downward and forward by bending at the waist, legs and spine), and kneels (bending the legs at knee to come to rest on knee or knees).

Essential Functions:

  • Collaborate with Store Manager on the daily operations of the store and in the training, coaching, and managing of employees
  • Assist with scheduling employees, completing time-clock reporting, and assigning work
  • Interact with customers, recommend products and scheduled service
  • Process paperwork and utilize company computer systems to help maintain proper billing and inventory
  • Performs duties of tire technician when needed
