Job Description

St. Luke’s School, a secular, college-preparatory day school serving grades 5 through 12 in New Canaan, Connecticut, seeks a creative and collaborative Choir/Vocal Music teacher for an immediate opening as leave replacement instructor.

The duties listed below are part of the full-time job responsibilities, but we are open to candidates who, for various reasons, might only be available for one division over another.

Primary Job Responsibilities:

Teach full time course load that includes:

– Choir 5

– Choir 6

– Treble Choir (7th-8th girls)

– Tenor-Bass Choir (7th-8th boys)

– Chorale (all grades 9-12)

Maintain an open online gradebook, attend department meetings, write report card comments and/or Academic Progress Reports (if applicable).

Collaborate with department members, school personnel, parents and various community agencies for the purpose of planning curriculum, securing performing opportunities, and improving the overall student experience.

Serve as co-advisor for a group of 6-8 students.

Assist with supervisory and other duties as assigned, such as lunchroom or study hall.
