We hope this morning finds you extraordinarily well in the wake of such important, breaking news as the announcement of deferred action being extended to Dreamer youth around the country.
DHS Official Memo
Atlas: DIY believes this is only the first step of many many more on the road to equality for all, but we are excited for this very first step.
This Sunday, June 17th, from 1-3pm at our offices at 5306 third avenue, sunset park, brooklyn, Atlas DIY (www.adiy.org) will host the first in what we believe will be a long line of talks and workshops held for dreamers, their advocates, and those wanting to simply help out and find out more about this process. Though the announcement was just made today, there are things that dreamers can start doing NOW to ensure their applications are ready to go if they decide to apply.
Topics addressed on Sunday will include:
What does this REALLY mean?
Costs and benefits of applying for DA?
Proving your residency in the US
Proving when you entered the US
How to maximize “discretionary factors”
How to ensure a reputable lawyer is helping you with your claim
And anything else others have questions with!
Please feel free to forward this along, flier is coming!
